What is Wedding Insurance?
With all the stress in organising your
For most brides to be, their wedding day is something they have been planning their whole lives and with the average wedding now costing a staggering £21,000, not having insurance could be the biggest mistake you will ever make. It is easy to see how the costs stack up, an average wedding dress can cost up to £1,000, suit hire, wedding venue, flowers, chair covers, bridesmaid dresses, wedding cake etc. Then you have all the extras to make your big day that little bit more special.
What it does & doesn’t cover

• The Dress – If your wedding dress is damaged before the big day, this will cover the cost to repair or replace possibly the most important item of the big day.

• Wedding Bands – If the worst was to happen and your wedding rings were lost, stolen or damaged, then you could reclaim the cost to repair or replace.

• Wedding Vendors – If the band you have hired are unable to make it, or the caterers or cake maker have been unable to supply your order, this will cover the cost for replacing them.

• Injury or Illness – If someone who is essential to the wedding, bride, groom, best man, mother of the bride etc is unable to attend due to injury or illness this will cover the costs of rearranging for another day.

• Wedding Cancellation – First of all it is important to stress that wedding cancellation insurance will NOT cover you, if you or your partner get cold feet or run out of money. This will cover circumstances such as the venue having to cancel your booking or extreme weather conditions forcing you to cancel.

This is just a small selection of coverage available under a wedding insurance policy. It is very important that you double-check the terms and conditions of each policy you view. What is covered and what is not will vary considerably depending on price and the insurer you select to go with.
